VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

 

Summary:  The Community Outreach Volunteer represents the Breast Cancer Resource Center at community       events including health fairs, speaking engagements and fundraisers.  Volunteers are responsible for informing and  educating the public and the medical community about the Center and its services.  They are also responsible for fundraising and fostering community support for the organization.

 

Duties include:

  • Understand the history and the mission of the BCRC
  • Be familiar with BCRC programs and services in risk and detection
  • Demonstrate basic self breast exam on various breast form
  • Attend health fairs and corporate wellness fairs when requested
  • Visit physician offices to educate them about the Breast Cancer Resource Center and its services
  • Maintain literature and materials at physician’s offices
  • Speak to community groups as requested
  • Recruit volunteers to assist with fundraising, health fairs, speaker’s bureau and client services
