Mother exhibits power, beauty in breast cancer journey

Hispanic women have lower rates of breast cancer, but they are diagnosed younger and often have a more aggressive form of the disease.

Mother and wife, that’s the first two things I thought when I met Yolanda Vasquez. She allowed us into her home to talk about her experience with UT HOPE, an organization that teamed up with the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Texas to provide help with the day-to-day for breast cancer patients.

However, we also wanted to talk with her about how her Hispanic heritage impacted her health.
