Need Help?
Staffed by breast Cancer survivors, we are a professional organization providing direct assistance and breaking down barriers to treatment in ways that are as unique as the individuals we serve. Breast Cancer Resource Centers proudly offers the following services:
Patient Navigation by Certified Patient Navigators who are survivors- Our certified Patient Navigators provide practical guidance, helping our clients replace fear, anxiety and doubt with information, options and hope. To schedule an appointment with a Certified Patient Navigator, contact shigdon@bcrc.org/512.544.0911.
Breast Cancer 101 Class – This is a bi-monthly class taught by BCRC Certified Patient Navigators to educate newly diagnosed clients and their caregivers on next steps, coping strategies and what to expect, as well as connecting them to local resources. For more information and to register for the class, contact shigdon@bcrc.org/512.544.0911.
Support Groups -The Breast Cancer Resource Center models its support groups on those conducted at Stanford University School of Medicine by Dr. David Spiegel. Research studies found that these support groups improved participants’ quality of life and in some cases prolonged life. They are open to women at all stages of breast cancer.
Lotus Link online Support Forum- BCRC Lotus Link allows women at all stages of breast cancer to connect through an online support forum and discuss the mental, physical and emotional effects of breast cancer. For an invitation to this private forum, contact shigdon@bcrc.org/512.544.0900.
As Sisters Volunteer Program- This program allows trained, supportive volunteers to help with tasks that clients may not be able to do – housecleaning, yard work, grocery shopping, prescription pick up, errands, laundry, home repair, transportation and more. To request an As Sisters volunteer or to learn about how you can get involved with the program, contact prose@bcrc.org/512.544.0905.
Educate and Empower Series- This monthly series is held on the second Thursday of every month and features speakers who are experts on a variety of informative topics that aid those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer as they move through the process of treatment and recovery.
