The Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas (BCRC) works 365 days a year to eliminate obstacles between our clients and their treatment. The BCRC Art Bra Calendar represents that breast cancer never takes a day off and neither do we. Each month’s Art Bra is modeled by a member of our young survivors’ support group, Pink Ribbon Cowgirls. Art Bras featured in the 2012 Art Bra calendar were locally designed and donated for BCRC’s Graphic 5, an outrageous spectacle and celebration of life. This Art Bra runway show is a fun, flirty and extremely meaningful event that raises funds and awareness for the programs and clients of BCRC.

BCRC Lotus Link provides women at all stages of breast cancer with a community where they can feel safe to talk about their fears, concerns, victories and achievements. On the forum you can connect with others who understand what you are going through and discuss how breast cancer has affected you mentally, physically and emotionally. Lotus Link is a private forum open to our clients by invitation only.

Deck your halls with the Austin Babtist Women’s annual Holiday Extravaganza – A Very Pink Christmas. Join in the fun at Oilcan Harry’s December 18th at 8pm. All proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas. 

Created in 1986, the Austin Babtist Women have become an incredibly entertaining, and highly-respected, charitable force.  The all-male, all-volunteer comedy troupe performs throughout the nation and exists for the sole purpose of raising money for HIV/AIDS, breast cancer and other charitable causes.

 Randall’s Scan Campaign

Attention Randall’s Shoppers – It’s time for the Randall’s Scan Campaign. The generous team of Randall’s Store Managers has set a fundraising goal of $100,000! Head over to your neighborhood store and load your cart with fresh produce, lean meats, and delicious baked goods.  When you arrive at the checkout line, your friendly Randall’s Associate will happily add a donation to BCRC.

This year Austin’s only extreme, full contact, interactive haunted house adventure presents The Carnival of Lost Souls – guaranteed to terrify in a way only scary clowns can! Performances will assuredly sell out so buy your tickets now. Beginning on October 13th, The Happy Time Circus and Chuckles the Clown welcome victims, we mean visitors, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through Halloween.

The national 2011 Pink Heals Tour comes to the Georgetown Square on Tuesday, October 25. A parade will be going from the old Fire Station on Main Street, around the Square, to the County Courthouse at 710 S. Main Street. A program on the east side of the Courthouse will include presentations, music, signing of pink fire trucks, and a group photo with women who are cancer survivors. The Master of Ceremonies and times for the tour stop will be announced at a later date.

The Pink Heals Tour stop aims to raise money and awareness for women affected by all cancers and is sponsored by the Georgetown Fire Department and the Georgetown Association of Professional Firefighters. Firefighters and fire trucks from Austin, Cedar Park, Florence, Leander, Liberty Hill, Round Rock, Taylor, Pflugerville and Weir were also in the parade and at the tour stop. The pink fire trucks are part of the Guardians of the Ribbon national tour. The Georgetown Fire Department Pipes and Drums Band, along with other members from E.S.P.A.D.A., will be performing at this years tour stop. Also, there will be several local health care, cancer support, and nonprofit organizations that will have booths set up on Main St.

During the program, the 2011 Inspiring Hope Award will also be given during the program. Last year Lynn Guziec, assistant professor of chemistry at Southwestern University, received the 2010 Inspiring Hope award. The honor is presented by the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas, a local nonprofit that provides information and support to women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. Guziec was selected by BCRC to receive the award because of her work in designing and synthesizing new anti-cancer compounds.

German Food, German Beer, German Music…what could be more fun than the 10^th Annual Oktoberfest at North by Northwest Restaurant and Brewery! Get ready to tee off at 1:00pm on Friday, October 21 for the Hacker’s Invitational Golf Tournament benefiting BCRC! Join the Hackers for giveaways, prizes, and contests. This four-man scramble honors the memories of two very special mothers, Ann Gutshall and Carolyn Hamm, who were taken from their families and friends far too soon by breast cancer. This event provides lots of fun and a chance to let loose on a spectacular course set among the rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country. So dust off your driver and get out to the green!
