We are proud to announce the 10th annual Eat the Heat Fund Raiser sponsored by the Austin Chapter of NACE, the National Association of Catering Executives (www.nace-austin.com).  Our 10th Anniversary year will be an action packed, fun-filled evening featuring a progressive cocktail party throughout the lovely downtown Sheraton Austin Hotel. This Nationally recognized and award-winning evening includes a chef’s showcase (featuring Austin’s top culinary talent and their favorite ways to beat the grueling Texas summers), silent auction, entertainment, and live music (Austin IS, after all, the live music capitol of the world !)

Proceeds benefit the Foundation of NACE and provide NACE-member scholarships in support of attendance at the organization’s National Educational and or Leadership Conference each year.  A portion of the event’s net profit also benefits our 2009 and 2010 Charity Partner, Breast Cancer Resource Center of Austin (www.bcrc.org).

Suzy’s Soldiers need YOU! Please join our efforts to support women & their families thru their breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. Golf tournament will be at Grey Rock Golf Club, August 20th. Tournament at 8:30 AM and limited to 144 players. Tournament spaces sold out a month before event last year.

The spectacular 8,240-square foot Darrell Royal Ballroom at Barton Creek Resort will host the evening party commencing at 7 PM. Dinner, beer and wine provided.

What We Do

Suzy’s Soldiers was formed by Kristin Osler in loving memory of her ‘Momma’, Suzanne Clarke. Suzy was a passionate philanthropist who lost her 6 year battle with breast cancer in 2000 at the age of 53. Living in Amarillo, Texas for 23 years, Suzanne became actively involved in supporting nonprofit organizations throughout her community.  This event benefits the BCRC.

Participating charities are: Capitol Area Food Bank in June, Lone Star Paralysis Foundation in July and Breast Cancer Resource Center in August.

Everyone who buys the designated cocktail for a cause will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a grand prize given away at the end of each month. The August cocktail is a Guava Strawberry Margarita - tequila, jumex guava nectar, lime juice, and strawberries. Cocktail prices are $8 and $6 during the nightly 4-7 pm happy hour. The donation is part of the purchase and entitles recipients to one raffle entry — grand prizes include A VIP pass to Blues on the Green, concert tickets and a Roaring Fork gift card.
