About Marjorie
Marjorie was diagnosed in June of 2000 at age 45. Her lump was detected from a self breast exam. She had extensive ductal carcinoma in situ and elected to have a bilateral mastectomy without reconstruction. She had four rounds of Adriamycin/Cytoxan and then four rounds of Taxol. She tested positive for the breast cancer gene and had her ovaries removed to reduce her risk of ovarian cancer by 80%. She believes that people should listen to their bodes and advocate for themselves and seek help when faced with a cancer diagnosis. She works for the BCRC because she is grateful to those who have dedicated their lives to the healing arts and medical research. Without their dedication and sacrifice, many people would not be “survivors.”
