About Dianna
Dianna was diagnosed at 53 years old with multi-focal, high-grade ductal carcinoma in situ in early 2004. She underwent a lumpectomy and subsequent re-excision to obtain clear margins. She was fortunate enough to be a candidate for partial breast internal radiation, and underwent treatments twice a day for five days. She was also prescribed Tamoxifen. At the time of her diagnosis she was working for a large medical device company in Austin and appreciated having a shorter schedule for treatment. Dianna is grateful for the return of her good health, and believes that she got her job at the BCRC for a reason—to help support and educate those going through breast cancer. In 2009, she had a slight recurrence of DCIS and underwent accelerated external radiation. Dianna enjoys Yoga and spending time with her husband, Tony, and her precious grandchildren, Dylan and Laurel.
